Revenge

Vitaly Kaloyev, the guy who murdered the air traffic controller who mistake caused a plane collision that killed Kaloyev's wife and children, has been arrested and put into a mental hospital.

He was sort of wrong, but I'd probably do the same thing. It's a strange feeling, on one hand knowing that some things can be only washed off with the blood of the guilty party, if even then, and on the other hand being glad to live in a society where that sort of thing is not generally allowed. Makes me feel like a semi-savage, which is probably what I am.

I wonder whether all those people who commit or consider committing "honor killings" in the West feel the same: on one hand a very strong desire to do it, on the other hand being glad to live in a place where people are not allowed to do it and where you can count on most other people not doing it.
